This recent piece from photo-realistic artist Smug has caused slight controversy with a few local residence in Malmö. The 8 storey high Troll mural is located in the Holma district of Malmö and took Australian-born, Glaswegian based artist Smug 5 days to complete. During the summer international and local artists came together in Malmö for five weeks of art production. Together with an ambitious workshop program and creative talks the aim was to inspire and involve the local communities as well as showcase great art. D*Face, Faith47, Natalia Rak, Cyrcle and Above where among the participating artists. Despite having a thriving art community and an active graffiti scene Sweden have up until now been very conservative when it comes to public art of the urban kind. Going boldly where no Swed...
Here is a demonstration of iaido, the Japanese sword art, by Tomas Ohlsson from our dojo Enighet, held in 2004 on a Samurai exhibition at a museum in Malmo, Sweden. Tomas is very accomplished at iaido. He has won several medals in Swedish and European Iaido Championships. I was his first teacher of iaido, and I was quite proud to see him grow out of the need of my instructions. I made the filming and the cutting. It looks like a two camera filming, but was actually shot at two separate demonstrations. Tomas repeated the demonstration every hour, so I filmed it twice, from different angles. He changed his program somewhat between the shows, so some forms (kata) I only had from one angle. He was doing several Seitei iai forms, and also some ko-ryu. Here is the website of our dojo Enighet...

Malmö is a story of a couple in that quintessentially Australian condition: the home renovation. Segueing between dance, text and imagery, performers and creators Crowley and Weisfelt, explore the cliché commercialisation of modern nesting.
Festival hidden art is taking place in Malmö parks during the summer 2015. Swerving in the Park of the Kings is playful improvisation in time when midsummer night, night before the longest day of the year is full of green stuff around. Performance titled "what is hidden in the boxes" is about people who protect nature and about people who don't care of it. Art would be understood as an empty box and what is hidden would be people of all kind. ...
